Day 5: Almost Heaven, WV

"Almost Heaven, West Virginia. Blue Ridge Mountains. Shenandoah River. Life is old there, older than the trees. Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze." John Denver

Not only was it my first time in West Virginia, but it was my first time at a YSA conference. Here were the highlights:
1) I'm about 93% sure that I was old enough to be everyone's grandmother.
2) I sat next to a guy in one of the classes and before I could even talk to him, he moved down a couple seats. Not to sit by someone else...he was still sitting alone. I guess I smelled?
3) The favorite conversation I had with a guy was about the tragedy it was that Jack in the Box doesn't exist on the east coast. We both love the tacos, although I only buy 2 for a meal, and he goes for 10.
4) I started to feel like Jack in the Box Guy thought because we both love cheap tacos with fake meat, we were MFEO. He was nice, but I am pretty sure that's all we had in common.
5) Jack in the Box Guy was very interested in getting to know the real me. Each time I tried to inch away from the conversation, he would bring up another fast food chain and try to find out exactly how I felt about it and what I would order if I ate there.

**I just want to mention that although I didn't find my EC in West Virginia, the conference actually was great. The theme was about focusing on the little things, and I feel like I was inspired to make some changes in my life that will help me be happier and to move forward in a positive direction.

  2. I think I've met Jack in the Box guy. Or at least another version of him.

  3. Paha! I love Jack in Box's winter season pumkin milk shakes. One time I asked a worker there how long the shakes would be available. He started to drool and said "I hope forever" in a monotone voice. It's one of those repeatable quotes now.
